Custom Home Renovation Builders in SYDNEY
We're out at Lewisham at an old Victorian cottage home that we've renovated. It's a huge renovation that we've completely demolished the back end of the home and made a new extension with five bedrooms, one huge living area and three bathrooms.
The family fell in love with the home so instead of doing a complete knockdown, we did an extension and kept the Victorian features of the first part of the home, restoring a few of the elements which Michael and the team have done very well.
After constructing the stairs, we found that the clients were not happy with this element as it really ate into the space of the dining area with the kitchen. So we worked closely with the engineer to create a system where we would put two new beams to support the above structure so the clients can have a simultaneously integrated underground storage that will tie in to all the different elements of the home. When we first bought this house, the existing extension was quite old and dilapidated. It was a three bedroom, single story house, so we thought, Look, it wasn't really ideal and also not enough space for a growing family. So we decided that we wanted to definitely redo the back section of this house and really open it
up this discussed our plans with a number of different builders, probably up to 10, almost. We talked them through our vision. We showed them our plans. When we met with Chantelle, she understood exactly the vision. She was very on board with it. But not only that, I could tell that she was very accessible. You know, sometimes even when getting quotes with builders, they would never pick up the phone. They would never respond to emails. Whereas Chantelle, she would always come back to us, you know, that day and having done renovations before, we felt like That was a very important factor.
Maybe, this time, communication throughout the renovations was always really strong. With Chantelle, with renovation like this, there were just a large number of stakeholders. We'd have engineers, arborists, private certifier, Council, neighbors, having strong communication was very important with that many stakeholders involved, and having having to deal with the variety of personalities, I think that's a real strength that Chantel has, which which made the whole process very successful. Look the final result of what has been built and what the Lumia team has done, they've really gone above and beyond what we initially imagined, what we anticipated, the joinery, the stone, putting it all together, even small details like the Alfresco, where every board is, the whole panel going across, the whole way, it just makes such a big difference to the end result, which we just could not have imagined.
