When Chantelle and Michal Mieleniewski created their company, they chose a name that captured something deeper than surface-level branding.

"We wanted a name that actually meant something," explains Chantelle. "Lumiere is French for light. That's exactly what we try to bring to every project. Both the clarity to see what's really possible, and the creative vision to make it happen."

It's about seeing opportunities others miss. "I'll walk into a home and immediately spot where we can safely remove a wall to create this amazing open living space," says Chantelle. "Or I'll see how reconfiguring the layout could flood the whole house with natural light. Most just work with what's there - we see what could be there."

But precision matters just as much as vision. "The beautiful stuff is what you notice every day," Michal notes, "but it's the things you don't see that determine whether your renovation will still be perfect in 20 years. We obsess over foundations, waterproofing, insulation, structural support - all the fundamentals that make the biggest difference.

There's actually another layer to their company name that Disney fans might appreciate. "Lumiere is the name of the perfectionist The Candle from Beauty and the Beast," laughs Chantelle. "He wouldn't rest until every single detail was exactly perfect. That's us on every job site."

This combination of vision and perfectionism means they can solve complex structural challenges, create spaces that feel as good as they look, and — perhaps most importantly for busy families — take the stress out of the renovation process through clear, honest communication.

"We're not just building beautiful rooms," Michal explains. "We're creating homes that families will love living in for decades. That's a responsibility we take seriously."
